weekend mission trips to columbus county

conference mission 10.18 & 10.25

Bishop Shelton is asking churches to send work teams to Columbus County to help with home repairs. There are opportunities in October to help in this endeavor. All skill levels are welcome. Here are the ways you can serve:

• Friday Prep Teams: Join us the Friday before each workday to help prepare sites and materials.

• Work Teams (Saturdays): Help with repairing roofs, flooring, walls, and other essential home repairs.

• Lunch Support (Saturdays): Help prepare and deliver lunches to the teams serving in the field.

You can also donate to help provide support for those communities impacted by storms.

Please click on the link below for more information and to register to help during either weekend of October 18th or 25th

. Please note: there are registration deadlines for each weekend, so please be sure to sign up before the deadlines.

annual celebration

one service & a luncheon to follow

Each year, FUMCG welcomes back all those who have been a part of our congregation in past years for homecoming. Much like schools host Homecomings for alumni, we do the same for Pastors emerti, former members who have relocated, graduates of our youth program and the like, welcoming them back each year for a special Sunday. We begin with coffee and conversation, move into a special musical offertory prior to a combined worship service, followed by a luncheon. We also recognize those who have died and entered the Church Triumphant on this Sunday, marked as All Saints Sunday, by reading their names aloud in the service, lighting a candle and chiming a bell in their honor. If you have folks you want included in our memorial, please contact the church office.
