FUMC Scholarships and Loan

Since 1989, First United Methodist Church has awarded scholarships to members of our church family who are pursuing higher education.  

APPLICATION LINK IS NOW CLOSED. 

Scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year will be awarded on Graduation Sunday May 31, 2025.

Applications will open for the 2027-2028 academic year in March 2027.

GBHEM Scholarships offer financial aid to United Methodist students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.  Every year, we award an average of $5.5 million to help students in the United States and abroad pursue their dreams through higher education. With this financial aid, GBHEM is opening pathways for students of all backgrounds to earn their degrees and serve as the next generation of leaders for the church and the world. Click here for information and to apply.



United Women of Faith Scholarship

United Women in Faith of the North Carolina Conference has a scholarship program for female students attending one of the Methodist-related colleges in North Carolina. Undergraduate and graduate scholarships are awarded to students who have been accepted at Louisburg College, Methodist University, North Carolina Wesleyan College, Duke University, Duke Course of Study (COS), or Duke Divinity School. All applicants must be members of the United Methodist Church and must reside within the bounds of the North Carolina Conference.
